How to create mail alert when server down using HostMonitor.

Below are step by step how to create Alert monitoring by email using HostMonitor

Choose Profiles à Action Profiles. You will see Action Profiles windows.

Choose New, and then you can fill Profile Name field, and then click Ok.

Click Add to adding your monitoring type. Choose Send E-Mail (SMTP)

Fill field From (Sender), and To (Recepient).

Click Mailer Settings for set your mail.

Set Primary SMTP Server: Address: <yourSMTPsErver>, Port: 25, Auth: Login, Login: Use your ID and password. And then click Save

Set Subject, click Zoom icon for setting Subject.

Choose your pattern base on Standard Macro Variables, and then choose OK.

Set your Body template.

In Main Profiles, you can choose default Profiles or create new profile with click New, after setting your Profile, click Ok.

After creating mail alert when server is Down, now you must create alert when server up again. You can click add in “Good status action” column. And then following the before step.

Set alert profile on your monitoring server. Double click on your server list, and set the profile.

Choose your Alert Profile as you created before. and then click OK

Alert testing.

Plug LAN cable on the server, you will receive mail alert from application, and replug LAN cable, and then you will receive again mail alert when server is up.
